If palm tree gets the brown tips on the leaves

If it is one of the bottom leaves - you probably have nothing to worry about. As the palm tree grows - the bottom leaves die, the new ones are coming. Just cut the bottom leaf off when it becomes unattractively dry and brown.
But if it is the one from the top we are talking about - then it is a problem. I have read somewhere that palm trees don't like the salts building up in their soil and in such case express themselves by having brown tips on their leaves. To minimize the risk, as recommended by specialists, once in a while I perform the procedure that I call "salts washout". Attention: before doing it make sure that the soil in your palm's pot is well drained (water should go easily through it).
First I collect my palms - pots without saucers in the bathtub, take water - room temperature is good - and fill all the pots with this water up to the edges. Then wait untill all the water will successfully come out through the bottom holes and repeat as many times as I can. Note, you don't have to sit there and watch the water coming through. Do your other stuff between fillings. Go 10-15 rounds or until you are exhausted.
Don't rush to put palms back to the saucers, let all the excess water get out. I tend to leave them in the tub overnight. It makes this process quite annoing for the family members as one washroom is practicaly unaccessible. If you don't live in apartment and have a backyard, do it outside - less mess in the house.
