Fittonia verschaffeltii

Fittonia verschaffeltii Family - Acanthaceae
Fittonia or mosaic plant or nerve plant has dark green oval leaves intensly covered with white or red veins. Common species grown as house plant is Fittonia verschaffeltii . It likes shaded location and high humidity, so fittonia is the best candidate for terrariums or bottle gardenings. If you would like  to grow fittonia outside of terrarium - special care is needed to provide it with necessary conditions.
Make sure the soil does never dry out, mist the plant often and don't expose to the low temperatures. For potting just all purpose soil would do good.
Fittonia readily propagates from cuttings, you don't need to use rooting gormones or put it in the water for rooting. Just stick the cuttings into soil and keep moist at all times.
Never expose fittonia to the direct sun light. I even found that the leaves become smaller when it is in the bright spot. My fittonia feels best away from the bright light.
To promote the bushy growth, trim the plant often and plant the cuttings into the same pot.
